Obituary
Roger L. Murdock
February 1930 – April 2012
Roger died peacefully at his residence, in Seattle, Washington following a long illness. He was born in Yakima, Washington and graduated from Moses Lake High School. Roger attended Washington State University and played on the football team. He went on to have a long career at The Boeing Company in the Contract Management Organization as a Program Director. In his retirement, Roger enjoyed sailing and is remembered as a loving husband and father, and a loyal and faithful friend. He was preceded in death by his son Bryan, and is survived by his wife Cecelia, son Scott (Gayle) Murdock, and granddaughters Jennifer Murdock and Jacquelyn (Joshua) Dailey.
A private remembrance will be held at the Mountain View Columbarium. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org or to the charity of your choice.
We have such good memories of our wonderful neighbors in Dash Point – the laughs and fun at the fourth of July parties – the glasses of wine – being teased by Roger and his contagious smile . We share your loss, Cece and Scott – much love and many prayers come you way. Roger will be missed and always remembered.
Our deepest condolence to all the Murdock family.
We too will miss Roger’s contagious smile and friendly
sense of humor.
Scott,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. Please know during this difficult time that our thoughts and prayers are with you, Gayle, your Mom, and your family. Be well.
Fran and Rich
So sorry to see that Roger had passed. He was a good friend. I remember so well him hunting with Dad and waiting with Virgil and Mom for them to hike out of the canyon.
Roger and Cecelia helped me so much when I moved to Seattle and I will be forever grateful.
Hi Cecelia and Scott
So sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. Much like my brother Mike, I have wonderful memories of those times on the farm and especially of Scott when he was just a toddler. Roger was a lovely man and a gentleman.
What an unforgettable man and wonderful neighbor. Roger always had a story to tell, and ear to listen, and a hand to help.
With our family so far away, he and Cecelia opened their hearts to our growing children and their door to us. We cherish his memory.
Hello Cecelia and Family—-
Thanks to Mike Parlet for letting us know about your loss of Roger. We send our hearffelt sympathy and best wishes for a smooth transition in the bumpy road of life.
We are now living where Ed & Dolly Bailiss lived and our oldest son Paul & his family are living on your old place!
As I recall, Roger was related to the Forrest Murdock’s, who married one of Ed Malone’s daughters—Eve I believe.
I remember Roger and you well, and as I recall Roger drove our school bus some. He was a great guy and knew that you transitioned to the coast from here, but then lost track of you. Again our sincere sympathy for your loss and should you ever get back to Pomeroy, please do give us a call.
Cecelia, Scott & Family
I extend condolances for your loss on behalf of myself and from Massey & Rowena’s; kids. I always enjoyed my visits with Roger and his unique style and our conversations were always spirited eclectic and fun. Again my sympathies.
David
