Obituary

Roger Tualuga Tauvela, 50, died on September 18, 2011. He was born on June 22, 1961 in Aoloau, American Samoa to Tuileva & Naolamai Tauvela. He’s survived by his wife, Aoina Tauvela; children, Tevaite, Ezekiel, Vania & Setu; mother, Naolamai; siblings, Frank, Marilyn, Lillian, Rick & Dorothy.

“Pretty Boy,” as called by his close family members, attended South City High School in San Francisco, CA. He continued his education at Shiloh Bible College in Oakland, CA & at the University of Phoenix in Seattle, WA. He married the love of his life Aoina Tauvela on March 6, 1987. They lived in Washington for most of their lives. He was a dedicated employee at The Boeing Company for 24 years, 15 years of that as a manager. His hobbies included fishing, racing cars and body building. For his 50th birthday this year, his family surprised him with a fishing trip. Soon after that trip, he bought his dream car.

He was a smart, funny, reliable and humble man, who was loved by all who came in contact with him. Everyone knew he was family oriented because he wore his love for them on his sleeve. His pride & joy were his 4 children. By example, he raised them to strive for higher learning, work hard and be responsible. They’ll always remember what he used to tell them, “No matter how far we are from one another, God will always be the bridge between us.”
After all the hard work you’ve put into this temporary life, God decided that a good man deserved a good rest. We love you & miss you!
Viewing: Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 10am-6pm at Bonney-Watson: Washington Memorial. Memorial Service: Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10am at Christian Faith Center.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. I quote a company leader who provided management opportunities to Roger and myself in saying “we have lost a good one.” Indeed we have.
