Roger Wilhelm Veil

Roger was born October 25, 1939 in Streeter, ND, and died peacefully on December 28, 2010 in Palm Desert, CA after a sudden illness at the age of 71. Roger served in the US Army. Roger also served as a volunteer for 10 years with the Seattle Police Dept. Later he was a heavy equipment operator for Baugh Construction and worked on many major construction sites in Washington and Oregon as a crane operator. Roger was preceded in death by his wife Francesca Veil, his step-children, Diana Granacki, and Darlene Thompson, and great-granddaughter Andrea Peterson. Roger is survived by his wife Barbara Anne O’Neill-Veil, step-children Darlene Hilling, Richard Brown, Karen Brown, and Barbara Allais. Roger was introduced to Barbara Anne by his granddaughter Sherry Peterson 19 years ago. He and Barbara Anne enjoyed a full and exciting rollercoaster life, splitting their time between Washington, and California. He is also survived by his brothers Harry, and Reuben Patty Veil, sister Florence Willey, niece Mary, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Roger was endeared by numerous friends. Visitation Friday, January 7, 2011 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, and Graveside Services at 3:00pm all at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188.
