Obituary
Ronald Kevin Banister of Sea Tac, WA, passed away on March 6, 2016. Kevin was born January 6, 1962 in Longview, WA to Ronald and Janice Banister of Kent, WA. Kevin grew up in the Kent area with his sister Gina and graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in 1980. His career started in retail with his father. After high school he discovered his love for softball and the friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
Kevin met Kari Hunt on July 4th, 1988 and the fireworks were instant! They were married on September 30, 1989. Kevin changed his career in 1990 to a pipe fitter/welder for Washington Natural Gas now known as Puget Sound Energy and then their contractors Pilchuck and Infrasource.
They were blessed with their first son, Kameron, on February 23, 1993; they welcomed their second son Kyle on July 16, 1997 and their third son, Keaton, arrived on November 2, 2001. Kevin’s entire life was focused on his family of three sons. With three boys his love of baseball grew and he discovered his greatest passion was teaching his sons the fundamentals of the game. He excelled in this area and not only donated his time to teaching his own sons but also opened his heart to help coach numerous teams and hundreds of kids.
Kevin will be most remembered for his total commitment to his family and always putting their needs first, his love for the game and seeing the growth of a kid not only in the fundamentals but the real values of life.
He is survived by his wife Kari (Hunt), three sons: Kameron, Kyle, and Keaton, his mother Janice Banister, sister Gina Martin (Brad), parents-in-law Floyd & Doreen Hunt, sister-in laws Kim Murray (Doug), Kelly Baucom (Jeff) and bother-in-law Kameron Hunt (Angelique) and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
