Obituary
Mom, 87, passed away peacefully in her home to join her beloved Ted, husband of 56 years, and continue their travel adventures together. Born in Spokane on May 3, 1925 to Lela and George Lapasin, Rose was especially proud of her Italian heritage. She grew up in the Rainier Valley area with a large extended family and graduated from Franklin High School. Rose worked many jobs in her young adult life and excelled at office and organizational skills. After marrying the love of her life, Ted, in 1948, she continued working to help Dad operate the Bow Lake Humus Company in SeaTac until the 1970’s. But most of all, Rose was very generous and devoted to her family. Our fondest memories of Mom include banana cream and chocolate cream pies, her famous ravioli and family Christmas feasts. We enjoyed Hawaiian vacations, Beach Cabin gatherings and Mariner baseball games together. She loved Latin American music and steel drum bands! Mom, your quiet but strong love remains with us forever. “Get out the rye bread and mustard Grandma, your life was a Grand Salami!”
Survived by her three children; Chris F. (Ine) Boysen, Catherine R. (Larry) Heiberg and Ted C. (Linda) Boysen Jr., seven grandchildren; Christina, Jeffrey, Julia, Jaime, Ted III, James and Curtis, step-grandson, Nick, four great-grandchildren; Joshua, Daniel, Liam and Maya, niece, Christy Strong and nephew, Ford Smith. Private family services will be held. Remembrances to Cougar Mountain Zoo, 19525 S.E. 54th, Issaquah, WA 98027 or Highline Medical Center Foundation, 16259 Sylvester Road S.W., Suite 101, Burien, WA 98166.
We will miss her beautiful handwriting, and her lovlely Christmas cards. I will never forget her basement.
A real lady.
So many great memories of Rose when I was a child
will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with you.
A fond farewell to an old and dear friend since the 1930’s,and sincere condolences to her beloved family.
I remember the good times shared with the Boysens and will miss them both very much.
I will miss you my dear friend.
To the Boysen family. We just want you to know that our thoughts are with you all.
We met your folks in 1987 on a Panama Canal cruise along with our neighbors, the Faulkners. She died in 2006, but he is still our neighbor at 88 yrs old.
We visited several times when your Dad was living and then we had a visit once after returning from an Alaska cruise out of Seattle. with Rose.
She was such a gracious, lovely person, and I’ll miss those Christmas cards and I did call at times for a nice talk.
She always wanted to know about our travels.
We were so fortunate to have them come into our lives and have a friendship that lasted so long, by mail and phone living across our country.
They will always be remembered.
