Rose (Nee Takis) Kaloris Saridakis
Born in Everett on May 31, 1921. She attended the local schools in Snohomish, where the family lived on a farm. Her Mother died when she was a little girl. Before leaving for school, she would bake several loaves of bread for the family of 6. She also milked cows early in the morning. Rose graduated from Snohomish High School, and in her late teens she moved to Seattle , taking a job at Green’s Department Store. She also worked at the Paramount Theater. She married Peter Kaloris of Salt Lake City, and they were blessed with one son, Jim. Peter was later diagnosed with acute Leukemia. He died on October 24, 1947. Rose remained in Salt Lake City with her son, later moving to Seattle. Rose worked for Northwest Fur Co., Trippy Fur Co., and Columbian Optical where she became head of the Hearing Aid Division.
In February 1967, Rose and Arthur Saridakis were married and within two years bought the hearing aid division and opened up under the new name Metropolitan Hearing Aid Co. where integrity was the main object.
Rose was a faithful worker in her church St. Demetrios, a long time member of the St. Demetrios Philoptohos Society (A non-profit charitable women’s organization). She also served on the Board of Directors Trustee for Hellenic College/Holy Cross School of Theology for nine years.
Rose leaves to cherish her memories, husband Arthur Saridakis, son Jim Kaloris; Sister in Law, Elizabeth Takis ; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her sister Joanne Hutchinson, brothers Chris Takis, and John Takis.
