Rosemary “Steckel” STAPLETON
Rosie passed away on Sept 8, 2016, at the age of 70. Born in Neenah, Wisconsin to Florence Hahn and Master Sergeant Paul Steckel, US Army. She graduated from Holy Angels High School in Ballard and attended Seattle University.
She filled her life with family and friends and was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She loved working outside the home after raising her children, and was even happier when she was able to retire and spend time on adventures with her husband; canoeing, Irish set Dancing, nature walks, traveling. She accepted her Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis with grace and felt she lived a happy and blessed life.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Brian Stapleton; her sisters; Kay Shepard, Anita Steckel- Weaver; her brother, Ron Steckel; her daughters, Christine Hroncich; Monica Collins (Stephen); her son, Timothy Hroncich (Angela) and 6 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Mark William, who died at the age of 16 from a genetic disease, Globoid cell leukodystrophy.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 15226 21st Ave SW, Burien WA at 11am on Friday, September 16, 2016. Arrangements by Bonney Watson Washington Memorial at Sea-Tac. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way.
