Obituary

March 12, 1941 – January 22, 2022

Rosmarie Heier passed away in the late afternoon with the sun shining and her children nearby.  Her family spent her last moments praying, visiting, and playing her favorite songs. Rosmarie was born and lived in Leipzig, Germany.  She met her future husband, Raymond, while he was serving in the US Army.  At 19, she came to the US and married Raymond at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in West Seattle.  Rosmarie was a long time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Burien, WA.  She was active with YLI (Catholic organization for women), fundraising events for the church and St. Bernadette School.  Over the years she supplemented the family income by babysitting neighborhood children, ironing for friends, selling Avon, working part-time at George’s Produce and later at Van de Kamp’s bakery. Rosmarie was a caregiver for her family and a devoted wife of 44 years.  She will be deeply missed.  Rosmarie is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, daughter Heidi, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Anneliese, her children: Patrick (Amy), Diana Hautala (Raymond), Monika Rico (Marco) and Philip, her grandchildren: Ryan, Kellie-Rae, Zachary, Azaria, Hallie, Isabelle, Miriam and her great grandchildren: Adelaine, Josiah and Elijah. We respectfully request that no children under the age of 8 attend the rosary or funeral.
