Ruby Jewel Jackson was born on May 2, 1934, in Satin, TX, to the late L.C. Majors Sr. and Alvie Pimpton Majors. She was married at age 17, and in that union she bore seven children.
In 1959, she moved her family to Seattle, WA and worked at Boeing for over 30 years, before retiring.
Ruby was a loving and devoted mother & grandmother who enjoyed attending family gatherings. She was known for being a competitive bid whist player and she loved playing bingo and checkers. She was well respected and loved by many. Often times, people would seek her out for personal advice. She was always willing to impart her wisdom and provide words of encouragement to anyone. She had a heart of gold.
On Monday, May 12, 2014, God called Ruby Jewel Jackson home to rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. L.C. Majors Sr. and Mrs. Alvie Majors, her son Carl Edward Smith, her daughter Gwendolyn Smith, brothers Freddie Majors, Vernon Majors, L.C. Majors Jr., Marvin Majors, sister, Alice Majors-Wilson, and grandkids Jordan Smith & Nyella Smith.
Ruby leaves to celebrate her homegoing, daughters: Carolyn (Joyce) Lewis (Oscar), Regina (Jeannie) Gautier, Sandra Smith and Annette Smith; son Donnie (Ray) Smith; grandchildren: Andre Smith, Felisha Smith, Nicole Duc (Jerry), Tanea Washington, Chris Smith, Nikita Smith, Laneta Smith, Serita Smith, Alexia Smith and Kendra Jones; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters: Mary L. Brandon, Doris Degrate and Gloria Majors; brothers: Joel Majors, Curtis Majors and Charles Majors; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
I miss you sooooooo much Grandma! I’d do anything to be able see you again. I love you to the moon and back💖
