February 9, 1955 - August 4, 2013

Obituary

Rufus Williams, 58, of Federal Way, WA entered into eternal peace on Sunday, August 4, 2013.

Rufus was born in Jonesboro, AR to Thomas and Emmaline Williams on February 9, 1955. He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He immediately enlisted and served our country in the United Stated Army, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother. After receiving an honorable discharge, Rufus held various positions, but being the avid cook that he was, it was his position as a chef on Amtrak that he enjoyed the most. His life’s journey took him from the South to the Northwest, ending in Washington State where he found the love of his life, his “Baby,” Denise!

Rufus was truly a fun loving guy who loved to laugh and have a good time. He enjoyed

basketball, football and cooking. He will be most remembered for his barbeque ribs and his slamming caramel cakes, making the caramel from scratch just like he had learned from his mother, Ma Dear.

Rufus was preceded in death by his devoted parents Thomas and Emmaline. Three brothers, Louis James, Tommy Jr.(Mary), and Lamar Williams.

Rufus leaves his fond memories to be cherished by his loving wife of eleven years, Denise Williams, two step sons Michael Gray and Gregory Stillwell (Tamara), a step daughter Monica Malone, four step grandchildren, Mikaylah Malone, Dominick Gray, Amiya Stillwell and Grggory Stillwell Jr., God-sister Gwendolyn Arhin and her fiancée Anthony Jones; sisters Shirley Muns

We are so deeply saddened by the passing of my dear uncle Rufus! He will truly be missed by all of his family & friends. He was such a great uncle to be around and could always make us laugh! Yes, he was an “Excellent” Chef & we all LOVED his Carmel Cakes!!!!! I am just glad that he is not suffering any longer. (Rev 21: 3&4)

Miss you uncle Rufus & Love You! Your niece, Sonja Kay & Family~

We will truly miss not having Rufus with us here any more, but confident in his acceptance of God’s Son Jesus, we shall see him again. HALLELUJAH! Because of this, we do not grieve like those who have no hope….and we will be with the Lord forever. I Thessalonians 4 13-18

Yes, we will definitely “be all ‘ight.”

In loving memory, your sister Angila & family
