Obituary

Russell Bradley Johnson was born into the home of Peter and Julia Johnson, Dec. 18, 1921 near Grygla, MN, and went to be with His Lord on Aug. 12 in Everett, WA. He committed his life to Jesus in the home of his brother, Arthur, who pastored a church in Faribault, MN at the time. Born and raised on the farm, Russ left the Midwest and traveled to Washington in a Model A at the age of 19. In 1942 he married Audrey Johnson, and to this home two children were born—Arden and Arda. In 1942 Russ was drafted into the U.S. Army and was placed in the 55th Medical Battalion. He was stationed in Ireland and Wales. In 1956 Russ married Lois Hedman, and to that union one son, Bryan, was born. In 1957 the family left Tacoma for the Seattle area where Russ was employed for 25 years as a machinist in the envelope manufacturing industry.

Russ was a kind, gentle, self-effacing, caring and giving man. He was an honorable servant of Christ, quietly making a Godly impact in his world. He helped many people using his gifts and talents, and was dearly loved and appreciated by many family members and friends. For nearly 50 years he made Philadelphia Church in Ballard his church home, and more recently faithfully attended South Everett Community Church in Everett.

Russ is survived by his loving wife, Lois, of 54 years, daughter Arda, and sons, Arden and Bryan, four grandchildren, one great-grandson and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eleven siblings.

Special thanks and appreciation to Zoran & Brana Kuzminac and Cedarwood Adult Family Home for their loving care of Russ for the last six months. Thanks also to the Providence Hospice team.
