Russel Zanghi
Russell M Zanghi age 85 of Burien WA, died Wednesday July 22, 2015 at his home. Born March 4, 1930 in Angola NY, he was the youngest son to the late Joseph and Mary Zanghi. He was the husband to the late Joyce Zanghi who died in 2001. He grew up in Brocton NY where he lived until he joined the US Navy after high school. Following his service to his country he went on to graduate from Seattle University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He joined the Boeing Company and retired after 35 years in cost accounting. Russ was one of original founding members of St Bernadette’s parish in Burien and attended mass during the week at St Francis. He was a booster for Kennedy High School and help with the Boy Scouts. In his final years he could be found volunteering his time at St Vincent De Paul and helping out at parish funerals. Russ enjoyed baseball, football and basketball. Russ was a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandparent and great neighbor. He is survived by three boys, Keith, David and Greg and four grandchildren. He was the youngest of nine siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tony, Joe and Angelo, sister Francis and unnamed twins who lived only about a day. He has three surviving siblings, Sam, John and Lucy. Three years following his wife’s death, he met another widower Patsy who he shared his life with for the past ten years. The two traveled the world. Their two families enjoyed each other’s company especially on birthdays, graduations, and holidays. He left us way too soon. He has now passed the Rainbow Bridge and entered the gates of Heaven to be reunited with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St Bernadette’s Scholarship Fund. A funeral mass will be at St Bernadette on August 12, 2015, at 10am.

May you rest in peace, my favorite Uncle Russ.
Rest in Peace Uncle Russ.
A truly nice gentleman. His wry sense of humor and warm personality made him a joy to be around. He will be sorely missed.
Great guy
Uncle Russ was a wonderful guy, always possessing joy, caring and a warm smile that was the light in his window that told others that there was a caring, sharing person inside.

I’m sad that the world is without such a fine man. That is doubly true for his family. He was a man much like my mother-everyone loved him. I’m sure the two of them are enjoying each other’s company.
