Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Ramey on Monday, February 28, 2022 at her home in Burien, Washington.
Ruth was born in Follansbee, West Virginia on October 23, 1935 to William Wesley Holliday and Arlene Inez Wheeler. Her father was a Methodist Minister and the family traveled to many different churches and ended up in Washington State where she resided the rest of her life.
Ruth was a banker all of her working life at a number of large banks, as well as savings and loans in downtown Seattle, and the Burien area. She also enjoyed many hobbies. She was an avid doll and teddy bear collector as well as an expert on dolls in general. She was a proud member, Chapter President and loved to sing in the Sweet Adeline’s International, Region 13 Chapters. She was a member at large in later years due to chapter consolidations.
As anyone who knew Ruth knew, she married the love of her life Al Ramey and they spent 63 wonderful years together filled with love and happiness, her passing will not end the love they shared.
Ruth is survived by Albert E. (Al) Ramey, her husband, as well as her brother Lawrence Holliday, her nieces, Melaine Jansen, Celeste Pinheiro and their children. Also Linda Smith friend and companion of Al and Ruth Ramey.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thank you to caregivers John, Aileen, Belina, Joan and Darling. Each of them constantly showered Ruth with wonderful care, compassion and love on a daily basis and we will always be grateful to them all.
Viewing will be from Noon until 4:00pm. Friday April 8, 2022. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Bonny Watson, Washington Memorial Park, and Located at 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac Washington. Burial services will follow.
