Obituary
Sallie Anne Harer (McDonald)
September 11, 1974 – March 6, 2025
Sallie Anne Harer (McDonald) was a loving mother, beloved daughter, sister, and friend who left this world much too early at the age of 50. Sallie believed that life was meant to be shared and loved being with friends and family. She lit up every party and gathering, radiating positive energy, making everyone laugh with her spontaneous antics and drawing people in with her hilarious sense of humor.
Born on September 11, 1974, Sallie lived in Tukwila, WA and nearby areas for most of her life. She grew up during a time when the neighborhood kids played from dawn until dusk and her Tukwila friends were her first family. She was an active person who enjoyed golf, skiing, playing basketball and softball. Later in life, her adventurous spirit continued as she embraced new challenges, including running a half-marathon and a triathlon. She also loved watching college basketball, Mariners and Seahawks.
Sallie attended Thorndyke Elementary School, Showalter Middle School, and Foster High School, and she graduated with a BA in Communications from Western Washington University. Following college, Sallie had an extensive and varied career, holding positions in communications, marketing, retail, sales and more. She made friends wherever she worked and was known for being a great team player and co-worker.
Her true passion was her family, and her pride and joy was her son Tyler, whom she loved unconditionally with all her heart. She prioritized spending time with him and often talked about their special Wednesday lunches. Her spirit is carried on by her son Tyler, her parents Connie and Pep, her brother Ryan, her former husband Jeff, who remained a close friend and co-parent, and an extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, a nephew, in-laws, and many friends that Sallie counted as family.
Sallie entered into eternal life on March 6, 2025. Her sense of adventure, bright smile, infectious laughter, quick wit, hilarious quips, unconditional love, and the beautiful memories she created will never be forgotten. She has left an enduring mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Sallie’s life is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, at 11:00 AM, at Maplewood Golf Course (4050 SE Maple Valley Rd, Renton, WA, 98058).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a Go Fund Me campaign to support her son Tyler or to the Lopez Island Animal Protection Society.
