Sammie Lois (Vernon) Haechler, 82, of Grapeview WA, passed away on October 7, 2023 in Shelton, WA. She was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Sam Pinkerton Vernon and Carrie Maggie Spitler, and spent her youth in Oklahoma. An accounts specialist, she devoted much of her career to the Salvation Army Northwest Division, from which she retired as Director of Accounting. She loved to travel and travelled all over the world. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Haechler, of Grapeview; a son, Lonnie and Rochelle McGuire of Burien; a daughter, Kimbley and JD Souther, of Hahira, Georgia; 8 Grandchildren; and 4 great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Bray, and her parents. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park, under the direction of Bonney-Watson.
