Obituary
Sandy Faccone, 82, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the morning of February 27, 2018, after a very tough battle with breast cancer. Sandy was born October 26, 1935 in Seattle, WA, the daughter of Ralph and Helen Faylor.
Sandy graduated from Franklin High School, and met the love of her life Joe Faccone at the Rollerland Roller Skating Rink, where he placed his skating pin on her and their lifelong love affair together would begin.
Sandy and Joe were married on July 30, 1955. They were married for 62 years. A true love story it is.
She lived for her big Italian family and all her friends whom she loved dearly. Sandy was a quiet, strong Matriarch leader, counselor and our everything to the Faccone family.
The family has a long tradition of birthday celebrations, holiday dinners and pasta every Thursday and Sunday. She always loved a full house and phone calls daily from her children and close friends. Family was number one for her and she was very proud of her kids and grandchildren
Sandy was known for her Italian cooking from making her famous red sauce, raviolis, cavatelli, meatballs, calamari, braciole, fringe, pizzelles….just to name a few. It was her job to turn the final crank on the annual wine grape crushing.
In her day Sandy was very active in attending hundreds of soccer games, tournament and sporting events across the country over the last 50 years. She was a quiet, yet fierce competitor who excelled at bowling and won many league and tournament championships at the Olympic and Highline Bowling in Burien.
Sandy was a member of many clubs and associations..Sons of Italy, Seattle Italian Club and The Molting Eagles. She enjoyed the Italian picnic, lodge meetings and Bingo at the Muckleshoots.
Sandy prided herself with having an incredible memory for birth dates, phone numbers and addresses of all of our family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her husband Joe Faccone; children Joleen, Mike, Jim, John, Jennifer and Jeana; sister, Barbara, daughters-in-laws; Kim and Becky; Sons-in-laws; Joey and Tyler, many nieces and nephews and her 18 grandchildren Derrick, Molly, Jenae, Jenna, Jake, Isabella, Emma, Luke, Alec, Austin, Aaron, Adam, Dominic, Stella, Mia, Mitchell, Dylan and Gianna. Also a large number of relatives and very close friends.
A memorial service will be held at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow.
There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family members at Calvary Cemetery, Seattle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations can be sent in her name to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
The family asks that you spend time with your mother and loved ones and make a toast in Sandy’s honor to family and friendships in this life and heaven.

Wonderful Memories: Joe & Bud were friends in grade school and then on to Cleveland High. I had the privilege to meet Joe and Sandy and my beloved Bud the first time (1953) at Rollerland Skating Rink. We spent may years double dating. Joe, Sandy, Don and Eddie were in our wedding in 1956. We have been the best of friends for 65 years. I will forever cherish those memories. Your mom had such a wonderful sense of humor and we had many laughs over the years. I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.

What a blessing Sandy was to me and my children! I feel honored to have learned so many things from this sweet woman who embraced me as a daughter in law, taught me Italian cooking and privately consoled me on the phone for 30 years. Joe and family. Im so sorry to here of Sandy passing. She will be greatly missed. Many good memories of our time together at our Renton SOI meetings , dinners and picnics.My prayers are with you.
