Satoshi Hirata
Age 84. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of December 25, 2009. Satoshi was born in Seattle to Kikuye and Taikichi Hirata, and was the younger sibling of Hajime and Osamu. After spending a short time in Minidoka Internment Camp, he served in the United States Army Air Forces. He married Meriko Toda in 1952 and had 3 children Gary, Dale, and Diane. He worked at the Seattle Water Department and Security Press.
Sat was always known to enjoy life. After retirement, Sat and Meri traveled to many places around the world.
Sat’s family would like to thank the staff at Clare Bridge of Lynnwood for their great care and kindness over the years.
Sat is survived by his wife Meri, son Gary Hirata, daughter Dale Hazapis, daughter and son-in-law Diane and Victor Bogstie, brother and sister-in-law Hajime and Michi Hirata, sister-in-law Mary Hirata, grandchildren Kevin and Kristin Hirata and numerous nephews and nieces.
His parents, brother Osamu and a twin brother precede him in death.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Bonney-Watson at 3:00PM. 1732 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122

My heart goes out to all of you at this sad time. Sat was a most amazing man who never failed to bring happiness and joy to each day. I loved him and will miss him. Thank you for sharing your wonderful husband and dad with me.
I will dearly miss Sat he always made me laugh, he was so helpful. Thank you for sharely Sat with me and thanks for making me a part of your family. Take Care and remember the good times.
Sweet, sweet Sat! What a wonderful man and friend. It was such a pleasure getting to know and spend time with him at Alterra/Clare Bridge. I adored his pleasant and friendly demeanor — and what a wonderful smile! I am so grateful to have known him. Meri and family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
