Obituary
Sean LeRoy Phillips was born on November 15, 1969, in Newberg, Oregon, to parents Howard Lee Phillips of Seattle, WA and Mother Gail Weithoff of Detroit, Michigan. Sean lived in Germany as a child. He also lived in Texas and Arizona.
He finally settled in Seattle, Washington, where he passed away in July 2024. Sean graduated from Nathan Hale High School and attended Seattle Central College.
Sean was an avid reader of science fiction and philosophy. He was often seen in contemplation, reading books and news periodicals at the Douglass Truth Library, which was one of his favorite places to spend his time off. Sean was a collector of comic books and figurines. Sean was also a gifted artist.
Most important to Sean was his work in the restaurant industry. Sean worked as a sous chef and cook for restaurants throughout the Seattle area and as a private chef for the Madrona Grace Presbyterian Church Concert Series. Cooking was his passion. He enjoyed cooking; it brought him peace.
Sean was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Leroy Phillips, and Grandmother, Ollie Wilson, with whom he was quite close. Grandfather, Joseph Anthony Wiethoff and Grandmother, Shirley Verna Schroeder, Brother Levi W. Presley, Nephew Seth Joseph Phillips II.
Sean leaves to mourn his parents, Gail Presley (nee Wiethoff) and Howard Phillips (Kriztina), son, Alexander Howard Phillips, brothers Seth Joseph Phillips and Andre Nicholas Phillips, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I pray the hands of God bring you peace as you pass from this life to the next for rest in his house. I pray all you leave rejoice in your homegoing as they know you await them with open arms.
My sincerest condolences and prayers to my family. I was able to meet Sean once and wish I could’ve got to know him better. I know he will be truly missed by all and asking God to comfort cousin Howard, Sean’s mother, siblings and the rest of the family!
Love Tanisha
