Obituary

A very special daughter and sister, Shari Lynne Watanabe, 52 of Kent, Washington was called home after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer on April 25th, 2010. Shari is survived by her mother Kazuko, brother, Tracy Lee Lizabeth, and sister Sandra Louise Watanabe along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father George T. Watanabe 1991.
Shari graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in 1976 and worked in an accounting position for a local doctor for many years.
Shari was an extraordinary person, who while battling cancer, was the primary caregiver after her mother suffered a stroke. She endured many treatments of chemotherapy and radiation along with several surgeries in her cancer battle to remain with her family, yet she never once complained.
Shari liked to spend time in the garden, doing embroidery, reading, and watching science fiction movies and shows, however, what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. Shari touched all our lives and those of many others in a special way and we will miss her immensely. She will hold a special place in our hearts forever.
A funeral service to honor Shari will be held at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Chapel, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA. 206 242-1787 on Thursday, April 29th, 2010 at 1:00 pm. She will be committed to her final resting place immediately following the service. For those who would like to spend a moment with Shari, viewing will precede the service from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Shari’s family requests donations be made to Providence Hospice, 425 Pontius Avenue N., Ste 300, Seattle, WA 98109 www.providence.org/hospiceofseattle
whose assistance was invaluable.
Our love goes with you Shari on your new journey, until we meet again.

I met Shari once, but knew mostly about her from her sister Sandra, my dear friend. Although Shari endured great suffering, she was very special and fortunate to be part of a wonderful and loving family. My heartfelt condolences to Sandra and family.

Shari was not only my Sister-In-Law but a Sister in my heart. I will miss her cheerful smile & her willingness to help anyone anytime, but I’ll especially miss her smile & her beautiful brown eyes. Fly free Shari until we see each other again.

Shari was always a kind and gentle soul who will be sorely missed. She always had smile for you. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer and won so many battles over the past 10 years. She is someone we admire for her courage and strength, all done with a smile and no complaints. We will miss you Shari, rest now.
