Obituary

Sheila Ann Kirk Glenzer

11/16/39 ~ 5/31/09

Our devoted and beloved mother Sheila passed away in her home, surrounded by many of her children and grandchildren. Plagued by serious health concerns over the last few years, Sheila fought bravely to spend as much time as possible with her family.

She was a longtime employee and friendly face at local bingo parlors at Kennedy High School and Big Brothers in Burien and at Wizards Casino. She ardently followed the Mariners and Seahawks, had a passion for old movies and reality TV shows, and an inexplicable fondness for two silly poodles. Deeply involved with her children, she traveled as much as she could and was often found enjoying coffee and conversation at local Burien eateries with at least one of her kids or grandkids.

Born in Philadelphia, she moved to California as a teenager and was quite proud of being an original employee at Disneyland. She married Kenneth Edward Glenzer and as a military spouse, raised five daughters in Hawaii and California before moving to Seattle in 1974.

Four years later, she was blessed with twin sons. Her family was her focus always and she never wavered in her support. Sheila is preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Ann Glenzer and her parents. She will forever be mourned by her daughters Cinderella Urrea & Luis Urrea, Sheila K. Glenzer, Susan Thomas & Jay Thomas and Karen Reese & Will Reese, her sons William & Mimi Glenzer and Kirk Glenzer, and her 13 grandchildren.

Services will be held June 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Bonney-Watson’s Parker Chapel in Burien, 900 SW 146th Street.

I know with Mothers Day coming up Sheila will be missed the most.

Always concerned more about everyone else than herself. She was Mom to everybody that had the

Honor of knowing her. My thoughts go out to her family and extended family on Mothers Day!

Aunt Sheila I will miss our talks on the phone. You were very special to me and I will always remember you and love you. I hope you meet up with my mom in Heaven, tell her I love her and miss her too.

Our thought go out to the family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.

Many people, who had the honor to meet Sheila, found a very sweet person. Every time I ran across her she was so pleasant and had a nice word to say, even for her, just to say hello was a great feeling.

If anyone was blessed with more time to spend, just to get to know her better, a life would be more fulfilled. Our Love, Our Hugs, Our deepest sympathy go out to the whole family, and we shall all look to the stars to see Sheila shine. God Bless
