Back in the ’80’s when I worked at Griffin Home, I met Shelley who was to become one of my best friends. She was a hard worker and enjoyed her relationships with many of the boys who passed through the Home. And she was a good influence on them as well and taught them helpful skills. We had many wonderful times and visits together, including trips to Reno and to my cabin on the White River. I missed working with her when I left, but we continued to get together along with our other partner in crime, Mary Lou Miller, and our friendship stood the test of time and lasted until the day she died. I loved her very much and will miss our talks and times together. Peace be yours, Shelley; you’ll always have a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten.

I was privileged to know Shelley while working at Friends of Youth. She was the “do everything, be everywhere” person extraordinaire. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. Shelley, you will be greatly missed…may peace be with you.

I had the privilege of hiring Shelley many years ago. I always enjoyed interacting with her; her attitude was just terrific. I’ve been gone from Friends of Youth for a few years and was just shocked to find out about her passing. Shelley and I had many good years there; I’m grateful to have known her.

Shelley was a co-worker and friend for many years. I will remember many good times, at work and play, but mostly I will remember her kindness and warm smile. She will be missed by many.

Shelley will be greatly missed. Shelley and I worked together for 6 years and had really become close. Ellie, I am not going to say I know what you’re going through right now, but I will say my heart, spirit and love are with you. Love, Sissy

Shelley I called her “Shelleth” was one of my best friends in the world. Her generosity, loyalty and kind heart made her special. We met working at the Griffin Home 17 years ago, and were instant friends. I already miss her so much, and will carry her memory with me for the rest of my life. Rest peacefully, Shelleth.

Mommy Ellieyou know if you need me I’ll be there. I love you both. God Bless.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I knew Shelley for almost 12 years at Friends of Youth. I will think of you and your family through these hard times.
