SHIRLEY E. FLUKE

Shirley E. Fluke passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Feb. 3. She was born in Mobridge, SD to Paul Andrew and Anna Josephine Ekrem. Mom was a graduate of Mount Vernon High. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sidney; brothers Royal and Norvin Bud; sister Helene Smock; son-in-law Richard Colquhoun; and great grandsons Timothy and William Sains. She is survived by her brother Peter and sister-in-law Marilyn of Florence, AZ; son David and daughter-in-law Karen of Sequim, their daughter Hillary Brian Payne; daughter Anita Colquhoun, and her children, Tim, Rick, Denise, and Darrin Sains; great-grandchildren Jamie, Chris, Brianne, Ashley, Tara, Tyler, Tanner, Tandi, Brandon, Rachel and Jordan; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mom was strong in her faith, proud of her family, steadfast in her opinions, and loved her lutefisk dinners. She was a gifted painter of oils and needlework. She was a faithful member for years at Freeborn Lutheran Church before moving to Poulsbo. There she attended Poulsbo Lutheran. Visitation will be Thursday Feb. 9 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park, 16445 Hwy 99, Seattle. Graveside service for family and friends will be noon Friday at Scandinavian Cemetery, Stanwood. Reception follows at Stanwood Legion. Remembrances may be made to Skagit Valley Hospice. Special thanks to Julia and Stephani of Hospice for their wonderful care. Special thanks to Cameron Smock for preparing our mom for her final journey.
