Obituary
Shirley M. ANDERSON
Long time Burien resident Shirley Anderson passed away peacefully Sunday, January 27, 2008. Her battle with cancer is now over. Shirley was born to Paul and Gretchen Bailey November 7th, 1925 in Lynden, Washington.
Shirley met Ted Anderson and after they were married they moved to Seattle then to Burien. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for Peter Pan Seafood’s until her retirement.
In her younger years Shirley and Ted loved family outings, summer time picnics with family and friends, and camping and fishing trips. It was always a contest on the fishing trips, and more often than not, Shirley was the winner. They loved going out dancing and playing cards, and she was always up for a game of horseshoes with the Wahtos. More recently, Shirley loved spending time with family and friends. She loved watching the great-grand kids play at the park while enjoying a milkshake. Shirley had a great sense of humor. She liked trivia and doing the crossword puzzles, and was always one of the first to sign up for the bus heading to the casino.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ted and her sister Pat Wing of Duwamish. She is survived by her daughters Paula McDonald of Burien and Carla Anderson of Carbonado; Grand children Carman McDonald and Heather McDonald of Burien, and Jonathan Anderson of Carbonado; Great grand children, Olivia, Ophelia, Keyondre and Jayden all of Burien and a sister Sharon Erickson of Maple Valley.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Boulevard Park Place, 2825 S. 125th Street, Seattle. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Please sign the online memorial guestbook at www.bonneywatson.com.
Shirley was a very strong willed lady. She always had a smile for you no matter what the situation!
We had a joke that whenever I would see her it would be at a hospital where we would always run into each other!
May she rest in peace.
God Bless her and her dear family, who I love very much.

So sad that She is gone, but a relief that she is no longer suffering. I was very fond of her, I called her Grandma Anderson even though I am basically an adopted person to the family. She was always Friendly and a fun loving person. She treated me like family. Had many fun times at family gatherings. I will miss her, but her legacy lives on!!
Grama Anderson is a very well loved grandmother, great grandmother, mother, sister, cousin and freind who will be missed by anyone who new her. I will always remember camping trips with grama and grandpa they were the highlight of my summer as a kid. My most resent memory of her that can give me a smile is one of her last doctor visits I took her to I got lost on the way and we saw Lake Washington at every possible angle and there was grama who was so glad that the sun was out instead of being upset with me she thanked me for the spectacular view. Grama I miss you very much however, I know your with grandpa now and I know you have waited along time God bless you both.
I am sorry to hear of the Death of Shirley. She was a wonderful Friend of mine. We both loved our times together at Fernwood at the Park and Boulevard Park Place where we both rented our apartments after loosing our Loving Husbands of 50 years. I always admired her and will remember Her fondly. God Bless You.
With Love, Lillian Schimmer
My mom was a special kind of person who if you met her you surely would remember her. She lived 12 years after my dad her husband died and seemed to really become an special individual. My mom loved watching certain game shows, jeopardy for one and was good at the correct answers. I remember calling her and saying did you know those answers? Usually the answer was yes. It!s good to know she is no longer suffering from the cancer that took her. She is now with my dad once again….Mom we all love you and miss you….Love Paula
