Obituary
Sidore (Sid) Ryseff, a long-time Kirkland resident, passed away on October 7, 2016, at the age of 91. Married 60 years to Janeen, they raised 4 children as well as 3 nephews. He was a proud World War II Veteran of the Navy serving on the USS Rochambeau. In October 2014, Sid took the Puget Sound Honor Flight trip back to Washington DC which was one of the highlights of his last years. His final tribute to his military service was participating in the Kirkland 4th of July parade, joined by his two sons and family friend, just weeks before he fell out of remission from Myelofibrosis.
Sid was the “Master” Cement finisher for 25 years. He worked on many churches in Seattle and Mercer Island as well as Kirkland’s Holy Family Catholic Church with his exposed aggregate finish. Sid enjoyed hunting and fishing. When he retired in 1987, he became the “Master” fisherman in catching “Kahunas” from Lake Washington.
Please join the family for a military service at the Kirkland Cemetery on Saturday, November 12, at 1 p.m. Following the memorial service, the family invites friends to join them for a light supper in celebration of Sid’s life. Share with us your favorite “Sid-isms” while toasting to him with his favorite vodka and orange juice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Puget Sound Honor Flight at http www.pugetsooundhonorflight.com
Sid was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. We will miss him. We always enjoyed his stories and jokes. Our deepest sympathy for all the family.
