Obituary
Sophia Grace Womack Clayton, who broke open the hearts of her mother, father, sister and numerous others in her short life, was stillborn on April 28th, 2017 at 11:41 am. She was 17 inches long and weighed 3.5 pounds. Her own heart had stopped on Thursday, April 27th, 2017, but not before giving a few good-bye kicks the morning of the 27th. Sophia is the daughter of Jerry “Clay” Clayton and Paula Womack of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Clayton, also of Seattle, Washington. Sophia’s maternal grandmother is Karen Womack of Enid, Oklahoma and her paternal grandparents are Jerry and Marjorie Clayton of Roxboro, North Carolina. Sophia is also survived by her Aunts and Uncles, Janel and Sam Kiniaru, cousins, Chris, Natalie and Elliott Kiniaru of Keller, Texas; Wayne and Kelly Womack, cousins, Gabriel and Micah Womack of Fort Smith, Arkansas. On her father’s side, Sophia is survived by Aunts and Uncles, Kelly and Richard Smith, and cousins Sarah and Hannah Smith of Boyce, Virginia, as well as Brinn and Linda Clayton and cousin Nikolay of Roxboro, North Carolina.
Sophia is now with her maternal grandfather, Cecil Womack as well as numerous other great-grandparents and family.
Sophia defied many odds by living in utero as long as she did as Sophia had Trisomy 18, a “life limiting” genetic disorder, that causes many complications in development. Sophia was treasured and loved every day of her life and will continue to be loved by her parents, sister, family and all those who surround Sophia’s family. While in utero, Sophia’s parents sang to her every night, “You are My Sunshine”; Sophia danced while she listened to her daddy play his guitar and sing “Sophia’s Song”, went to work with Paula every day, and received many hugs and kisses from friends and family. As her sister, Eleanor, stated, Sophia was “too great for this world” and so went into the next life prior to birth.
