Obituary

It is with a heavy heart and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Stephen Douglas Blowers. Born on November 14, 1980, Stephen’s journey through life came to a peaceful close on July 19, 2025, in Federal Way, Washington. At the age of 44, he leaves behind a legacy marked by resilience, warmth, and the enduring love he shared with his family.

Stephen is survived by a lineage of loved ones: his father Laurence Blowers, stepmother Aileen Blowers, Mother Colleen Kroetch, his wife Gloria Ordonez Blowers, his cherished daughter Genesis Ordonez Blowers, stepson Claver Ordonez, brother Brett Blowers, and sister Katrina Kroetch and many aunts, uncles, and extended family. He enters eternal rest joining his forebears, grandparents John Blowers, Rachael McArdell, and Jerry and Norma Kroetch.

From his early education at Brooklyn and Clark Elementaries, in Portland, Tualatin Elementary, Hazelbrook Middle School in Tigard and Sequoia Junior High in Kent, WA to his formative years at West Seattle High School, culminating in the year 1999, Stephen surmounted the challenges of a learning disability and a significant birth defect with steadfast determination, even becoming fluent in the Spanish language through the help of coworkers and family. His academic endeavors were furthered at Highline Community College.

Stephen’s personal interests included an impressive collection of Funko Dolls, his many older gaming systems and a fondness for the timeless escapades of “Dr. Who,” which brought him considerable joy and comfort, along with equally older unique binge worthy TV. The year 2003 marked a significant chapter in his life when he was united in marriage to his wife Gloria, and together they cultivated a nurturing home for their daughter Genesis and stepson Claver.

Professionally, Stephen dedicated over twenty-five years of service to the ” Jack In The Box” on 272nd/Pac Highway in Federal Way, even up till the night before his unexpected passing.  As the night shift lead at the drive-thru window, his genuine kindness and amiable nature endeared him to all.

The Blowers family extends an invitation to friends and acquaintances to join in commemorating Stephen’s life. A memorial service will be held at Bonney Watson, 1535 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, Washington, on the eighteenth day of August at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow to honor his memory. The interment will occur with a graveside service at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 37600 South Pacific Highway.

Stephen’s memory is a beacon of love and empathy, a testament to a well-lived life. His spirit, characterized by generosity and compassion, will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those he touched.
