Obituary
Tai Oy Ng was born November 15, 1912 in Toisan, Canton, China. She passed away peacefully on October 23, 2011 at Swedish Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, May Ching Louie, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ming Quon Louie.
In Hong Kong Tai Oy was a seamstress and took special classes in embroidery and beading. When she immigrated to the U.S. in November 1965, she continued working in the garment industry until she retired at 71. Then she was able to pursue her love of gardening at the Danny Woo Community Pea Patch on the slope of Kobe Terrace Park in the International District. She was a hard worker and instilled in us the same work ethic she portrayed.
We’d like to thank Chinese Information Services for all their help that enabled her to live independently at International House up until her passing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chinese Information Services Center.
