My grandfather, Herman Meinert, came from Germany with Ted’s father, Chris. My grandmother Elsie Meinert used to come into Chris & Catherine’s home across from the airport and tie quilts with her. Because I lived with my grandparents, I remember coming into visit them and really miss seeing the 3 beautiful brick homes across from the airport.

Sympathy and prayers are with you all as you mourn the death of your father, grandfather and great grandfather.

MY FATHER KNEW TED FROM THE OLD NEIGHBORHOOD IN WEST SEATTLE. I USED TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP AT THE FOOT OF ADMIRAL WAY. I MET WITH TED WHEN HE WAS A RESIDENT AT REGENTS COURT WHERE MY MOTHER IN LAW AND FATHER IN LAW WERE RESIDENTS AND LATER AT THE WEATHERLY INN. TED HAD SOME MEMORIES OF THE OLD WEST SEATTLE DAYS FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL TO THE SWING SHIFT BEER DELIVERIES AT THE BETHLEHEM STEEL MILL WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER. MY GRANDFATHER AND MOST OF THE ITALIANS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WORKED AT THE MILL. MY FATHER JACK “JACKIE” KNEW THE WHOLE FAMILY. DURING OUR VISITS @ REGENTS COURT AND THE WEATHERLY I WOULD STOP IN TO VISIT WITH TED TO GET THE OLD FAMILIAR WEST SEATTLE INDIAN GREETING. I WILL MISS MY VISITS WITH HIM.

Dear Rose and Family;

We have the fondest memories of the fun and laughter we always have enjoyed at the Boysen home and any place both of you traveled where we met…the trips on the Creole fishing and eating crabs on the beach…life couldn’t be better. We know life has been difficult lately, we are caring for my father now 90 with the same issues. Life is so short, I am glad we played hard together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love, Steve and Pam Shull

We were so sorry to hear that Ted has past away. Ine and Chris have kept us informed about all the things what was going on in Ted’s life. In 1980 I stayed with Ine Chris and family for a year. In that year I got to know Ted as a very nice, strong, friendly person, where you could have a good strong conversation with. He really gave me the feeling that he liked me. And I was always very happy to see him at my swim meets and other sport events. I still have the letterman’s jacket Ted and Rose gave me. I remember so well Ted taking me there to get it. Ted could make you feel at ease, and at the same time you could have a great discussion with him, where there was room for both opinions. Although we are miles apart, I miss him. And so must all of you. I’m with you in my thoughts, and Ted will always be remembered. He is not a person that you will forget. I wish everybody especially Rose, Ine, Chris, Christina, John, Joshua, Jaime, Jason, Cathy, Larry and kids, family all the best in coping with the loss of Ted.

Greetings From Holland

Richard, Monique and Kids
