Teodoro Escobar Arceo, Jr.
Born July 23, 1933 in Pasay City, Philippines to Teodoro R. Arceo, Sr. and Emperatriz E. Arceo. He is preceded by his brothers, Ricardo, Vincente and Carlos, and by his sister, Luz. He is survived by his spouse of 48 years, Carmen S. Arceo and his two daughters, Regina Arceo-Schulz (Bryan) and Cely Sasonoff (Andre). He had seven grandchildren: Kayli, Spencer, James Teodoro, and Reece (Schulz); Mitchell, Michael, and Matthew (Sasonoff).
He graduated from FEATI (Far Eastern Aeronautic Technology Institute) and received his Bachelors of Science in Industrial Education. He met Carmen while he was working at Aguinaldo Company. After 11 years of knowing each other, they got married on May 1, 1965.
He was an adventurer and determined person who wanted a better life for his family so he immigrated to the United States in 1968. One of his first jobs was a television technician. He later moved to Kodiak, Alaska and worked in the cannery. In 1971, he came back to Seattle and the following year, he was reunited with his family. He held a few other jobs as a fabricator and as a machinist and in 1999, he retired from Oberto Sausage Company.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and participating in community activities. He was happy when he worked in his garden, growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables and feeding the birds. He was a handyman around the house, fixing electronics and tinkering with gadgets. He enjoyed re-upholstering sofas and chairs too. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching cartoons with them and going to their sporting events and dance recitals.
In 2007, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After five years of remission, it came back and on August 3, 2013, at the age of 80 yrs old, he loss his battle to cancer.
We would like to thank Group Health Hospice especially Calista Pollock and Meg Sweeney, Dr Eric Chen and Katy, Dr Fred Heidrich and Laura, Dr Christopher Canning and Kathy,Virginia Mason and Providence Mount St Vincent for their care and support.
We appreciate all the loving support, prayers and wonderful memories you have shared with us during this difficult time.
