Surrounded by his family, Teofilo Javier Esteban passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his beloved home on Beacon Hill.  Tatay as we called him was 92 years old.

Tatay was born in the town of San Jose, San Nicholas, Pangasinan in the Philippines. After high school, he joined the Philippine Army and served in the military for 19 years. He immigrated to the USA on April 20, 1969 with his wife Aurea Malazo Esteban and their 7 children. They had another son soon after immigrating to the USA.

He is preceded in death by his wife Aurea Malazo Esteban, his siblings; Roman, Fabian, Timotea, Trinidad and Betty.

Tatay was a caring, devoted, generous and supportive father who worked hard to provide for his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family, especially his grandkids who he loved to entertain. Tatay was full of life, singing, dancing and playing his harmonica. He was a joy to be with.

Tatay worked at Gais Bakery for many years and retired at the age of 59. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Panama, Hawaii and various other states in the US. He also went back home to the Philippines multiple times. He loved to dance and sing and performed with his senior group at various functions.

Tatay is survived by his wife Charito A. Esteban, 8 children: Rodolfo, Rolando, Aurora, Araceli, Mae (Paul), Ofelia (Jeff), Samuel (Renee), Norman (Abby), 10 grandchildren: Marissa, Christopher, Kristina, Michella, Gabrielle, Joshua, Victoria, Aureal, Zachary, Sarai and one great grandson Marcel.

Tatay will be missed dearly by his family, relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Tatay will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd., Seatac, WA 98188.

A Celebration of Life will be announce at a later date due to COVID.
