In loving memory of Tex Autry Lay of Buckley, Washington who met with our Lord after a brave battle with cancer.
Dad enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and writing music. He especially loved witnessing through his music. He also enjoyed camping and playing cards with family and friends. He loved to watch his grandchildren play and sneak them the occasional treat.
We will all miss him greatly, until we meet again.
A special note from his wife, MaryAnne:
I want to thank my sweetheart for the wonderful 50 years we had together. You were and will always be a wonderful husband, father, and best friend. I pray that our children and grandchildren will one day have a relationship like ours. You will truly be missed but I know I will see you again one day with our Lord.
I love you deeply, your love MaryAnne.

Mary Anne and Family,
With thoughts of Tex we have many fond memories. He was our sons first “playmate”, not sure who was the biggest kid. We could not have left our son in better hands than Mary Anne and Tex’s day care. The Godly example he showed will be a legacy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Diana
Mary Anne and Family,
Tex is one of those people you instantly like. All the time I’ve known him I don’t know of anyone who disliked him. He was always friendly, kind and helpful. You knew he would do the fight thing. His strength of character lives in his children what a legacy.
Tom
My prayers are with the family at this time. Tex leaves behind a wonderful legacy in his family. I know that you will miss your dear patriarch but will be comforted in assurance that he is with the Heavanly Father that he loved so dearly. God Bless you.
May God’s love heal your sorrow, and may His peace replace your heartache with warm and loving memories. We are truely sorry for your loss. Steve and Kathy Penne
Tex sat in front of me in civics class. He was such a pleasant man to talk to especially that KY accent. My prayers are with the entire family. He has left you quite a legacy.
Well, Tex was my uncle. I haven’t really shared that many memories with him to tell you the truth; but I can tell you this. He was a great uncle to me, and I will miss him. Though he always called me dolly, He meant alot to me and I hope he is doing great in heaven. Rest in peace Uncle Tex.
Well, Tex was my uncle. I haven’t shared that many memories with him to tell you the truth; Though he called me Dolly, I have shared many laughs with him. I will miss those few saturdays where my pa and me would come visit Tex and Mary Anne and jam to the country music. Rest in peace Uncle Tex; we will miss you.
Tex Lay and Family,
I wish I would have had more time to get to know Tex. All I know about Tex are the stories that you all have recently shared with me and they were wonderful. You all are such a wonderful family and I know Tex was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather because he had a part in shaping each of you.
God Bless,
Jason, Kristy and Greenlee Eaton

Thank you brother for the memories made and shared.
Brother, no words can express the emptiness I am feeling not having you in this world, but knowing god the way I know him, I am instantly blessed and filled with peace, knowing I will see you again and in a much better place.
Until then brother, know that I have always loved you and will think of you often.
Love Your Sister,
Ann
Some of our fondest memories are when Tex and Mary Anne came to visit and we would all gather at Beulah’s house to sing songs. I will always remember Tex playing his quitar and how much everyone enjoyed it. He will truly be missed. Until we meet again on the other side. Love Don and Arbutus
Although the distance between our families made it difficult to see each other often, I was always happy to hear that Tex and Mary Anne were coming in. The one thing that stands out in my mind when thinking about Tex was his steadfast devotion to his family. Tex and Mary Anne’s marriage was an inspiration to me. I will truly miss his loving heart. Thanks for touching my life. All my love to Mary Anne and family, Robin Don’s daughter
Aunt MaryAnne, I have great memories of family reunions in Tennessee and Ohio when we all got together and felt the love of our family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family. Love Rhonda
I am sorry to hear Uncle Tex passed away. My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

Mary Anne, my dear Friend,
Now may be a sad time, but how blessed you are to know that before too long you will be with your young love again and he will be showing you through your mansion and walking the streets of gold with you and you both will be throwing your crowns together at Jesus’ feet.
The Joy of the Lord is your strength–and sad hearts weep no more, knowing you will be together again soon.
My love and prayers are with you, my friend.
See you soon.

Uncle Tex was always the uncle to me that no matter how far the distance or how many years we would go without seeing him, when we did, we just seemed to pick-up right where we left off.
I always felt an immediate family bond to him and he always made me laugh. Uncle Tex and Aunt Mary Anne have always given us all inspiration with their love for each other and the light that shone when they would speak of their children and grandchildren.
No man is without fault, but it sure seemed Uncle Tex was as close to perfect as you can get.
He will be missed greatly by us all!
Love Ludie and Family
John and I send our deepest condolences to the entire Lay family. The memory of Tex will be with us always. We will miss his humor, his wonderful character, his precious smile, his gentle spirit and the true love for his family, his fellow man and most importantly our Lord and savior. I hold close to my heart the memories of singing with him and Mary Anne, the biscuits and gravy on Sundays and great times of fellowship. You have been a true blessing and inspiration. Love you Tex!
An Unknown Author wrote “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure”. My deepest sympathy to all.
