Theresa Marie Peters

May 4, 1959 - November 14, 2017

Obituary

After a long and hard fight with cancer, Theresa passed away in her Federal Way home on November 14, 2017 at the age of 58. She was born on May 4, 1959 in the small town of Anacortes, WA.  One of her biggest passions in life, was to travel the world. Most of her young adult life was spent travelling, starting at the young of age of 18, when she visited her mother’s home country, England. More of her travels include visiting Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Pohnpei, the former Yugoslavia, and most of the United States, even the tiny island of Kwajalein. At the age of 32, she settled down with her husband, George and together they started a family later that year. She sacrificed her love of travel to raise her six children. She  loved her Catholic faith, and to fight for the unborn. Even in her final moments, she still remained faithful to Our Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Phyllis Lyle. She is survived by her husband George Peters, her children Catherine Perez (son-in-law, Steven Perez), John Peters, Anna Peters, Jamie Peters, Sarah Peters, Emma Peters, 2 grandchildren, 7 siblings, and 41 nieces and nephews. A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church beginning at 9am602 S 34th St, Tacoma, WA 98418.

To have known her for just this past year, was to be blessed by such a courageous example of faith, hope, charity, and love. How fortunate are we to have been able to share her life experiences and her wisdom. Thank you my dear Jesus, for your servant Theresa coming into my life. Take her home and keep her close to Your Sacred Heart.

Theresa is a woman with a great heart and care for others, especially her children. Despite many difficulties, she radiated hope and had a smile for everyone. We surely do miss her.
