Timothy D. Sipes was born June 2, 1958 to Carroll and Glorice Sipes of Seattle, Washington He was one of four. His parents, sister Janice Sandles and brother Leonard Sipes precede him in death.
Timothy graduated from Roosevelt High School class of 76. After graduation he attended Highline Community College, Des Moines, Washington and Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington
He married Mikelyn Jackson in 2001. Whom he was very devoted.
Timothy was a longshoreman of the City of Seattle. Became a member of the ILWU Local 19 in 1979 until retired in 2014. Timothy had a vibrant personality and met no strangers. He was easy to remember and hard to forget.
He was active in his community. Giving to anyone in need. His favorite charity was the Treehouse of Seattle. He was a good friend to his Brothers of Distinction, whom he loved socializing with. He loved traveling, sports events and concerts. His favorites were horseracing and boxing.
Surving him are his loving wife Mikelyn, brother Charlie Wilbert, Aunt Doris, stepsons, Antonio, Michael and Eric , daughter in law Pamela Williams, brother in law Ray Jackson Jr., Romaine Jackson and James Dobbins. Sister in law Colletta Sipes, Wanda Ray Jackson and Terre Lynn Jackson. Nephews Shawn and Andre Sipes, Nate Jackson, Cornell, Jeffery and Malcolm Dobbins. Mother in law Vivian McMullen (A.K.A. Mrs. M.) Six grandsons and 1 granddaughter. A host of cousins whom he adored and loved.
He will truly be missed.
My heart is heavy after hearing about Tim’s passing. He was a very good friend from way back in the day with the Friends of Distinction. My sincere condolences to the family.
Tim you celebrated with me and bought me lunch, at Chelan, the day I became a “B Man”. You gave me a sound tip, when you said don’t go on the ship, but work the yard. I listened but I didn’t give total regard. You inspired all of us to give back to our community, because all of us had been truly blessed.
Thank you Tim, because you truly understand.

I was truly Blessed to have Tim as a neighbor for 19 plus years. Tim loved a manicured yard and if tree limbs were scattered abroad he would call me and let me know he had his yardman clean up both his and my front yard.
Tim also loved to give young kids the opportunity to earn money by moving his garbage cans to the curb for pick-up or removing paper from his driveway. Tim had a Giving Spirit.
I will truly miss our conversations on traveling because he loved taking his beautiful wife to warm places and he loved to see a good concert.
Tim will be truly missed by many but never forgotten. I pray for Strength and Peace for Mikelyn and Family.

Tim was a great man and friend from work. Tim and I worked together as casuals for many years doing many different jobs in local 19. Tim always has a smile on his face and was a hard worker. He always thought well of others and was a great example of a person. Tim will be missed now more than when he told me he was retiring. Just knowing Tim was still around brought a smile to my face. He will be missed by me and all the people he touched in his life. Blessings go out to the family.
