Tim McGinnis
Tim McGinnis was born to John and Sue McGinnis at Highline Hospital on August 23rd, 1970. He grew up in Renton Highlands and graduated from Hazen High School in 1989. He attended Bellevue Community College on a soccer scholarship where he met his wife, Laura. They married in 1991 and had four beautiful children; daughter Avery, 15, sons, Trevor, Teagan and Tristan, 14, 10 and 4.
He had a strong faith and his passion for his family; his work and the game of soccer were evident to everyone who knew him. He coached all four of his children in soccer, as well as coaching basketball and baseball for his two older sons. He was one of the founders of Thunderbirds Soccer Association and was instrumental in providing high level soccer playing opportunities to children who otherwise would not be able to afford club soccer.
For the past four years he worked at Sysco Foods in Kent as a Salesman and this past year was promoted to Business Development Manager. He was recently honored with the company’s Pacesetter Award for business Development, which is given to only twelve other people in the country.
Tim has battled for 4 years with Liposarcoma cancer with grace, faith, humor and valiance. He went to the Lord on November 15th surrounded by family and friends who sang over him and prayed him to heaven. He was 37 years old.
Tim will be remembered for many things, but especially for his love of life, his smile and his mischievous sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Laura, his four children; Avery, Trevor, Teagan and Tristan, parents John and Sue, sisters Erin McGinnis and Kim McGinnis-Landdeck, brother-in-law Kevin Landdeck, nephews Parker, Brayden, Mason and Trey, as well as many more family members, dear friends and co-workers, the soccer community and the many kids that have had the privilege of being coached by him. He will be missed.
Tim’s Memorial/Celebration will be held at New Life Church, 15711 152nd Ave S.E., Renton, 98058, 425 226-0880 on Friday, November 23rd at 11:00 AM. Graveside service and reception will follow.

Dear McGinnis Family,
What a powerful service Tim had. Our family was so touched by Tim. Our deepest condolences to you all during these difficult days. Some things in life are so hard to understand this side of Glory but know that all things work for good to those who love the Lord. Tim is at peace now and out of his suffering. What a testimony he was to all of us in his suffering. He really touched our grandson Dillon’s heart in baseball. Our shy Dillon boldly stood up and gave a testimony at the service. What an impact Tim had on his life! We are in daily prayer for all of you. God bless you all. Our help indeed comes from Him.
In Christian Love,
Skip & Jacque Skinner

With love and many prayers,
Matt, Donna, Ali and Lucas Senatore
Our family has been forever blessed by knowing your beautiful family. Tim has brought us so much laughter and smiles. He embraced and taught Nick so much about the game of soccer and many more things like Texas Holdem! We will miss him calling our family “picnic” and Tim’s big smile.

Dear Laura, Avery, Trevor, Teagan, Tristan and the extended McGinnis family:
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, may you find great comfort in the many wonderful memeories that you will carry in your hearts forever of Tim. I had the great pleasure of working with Tim at Sysco, and although we did not know each other well, he treated everyone as a life long friend. Tim smile was contagious, and he would light up this office like a beacon of light, which we know is shining down on us all now, and watching over us. We are truly better people just by having known him. May God comfort you in his embrace during this most difficult time.
Much Love and Blessings,
Jackie Score and Family
I am very sorry to hear of Tim’s passing. Erin & my daughter Jeannie played soccer together so I knew Tim as Erin & Kim’s little brother. I remember Tim at the soccer games cheering the girls on but what I remember most about Tim was his wonderful smile and his ability to make people laugh. My prayers are with you at this most difficult time.
Sorry for your loss, for the family you are in my prays. Take care and stay strong.
We are all terribly saddened and angered by Tim’s early exit from our lives. We will miss his charisma, sense of humor and passion for life & soccer. I have learned a lot from him over the years by standing on the sidelines during games and practices. Connor will miss his long time coach and we will miss his sideline antics. I can hear Tim yelling “sniper” or “skittles” and telling the kids “you did good”. Being that this is the Thanksgiving season, even though I am sad, I am truly thankful that I was given the opportunity to have known him in my life. I kind of feel sorry for those that never had the time to really know him.
John, Sue, Erin, Kim, Laura, Avery, Trevor, Teagan & Tristan, we are very sorry for your loss. Remember that Tim’s soul & spirit will always be with you.
We will always remember him – X,K,C,B & D
We are so sorry to hear of Tim’s passing. Even though we have lost touch over the last few years, our family has such great memories of playdates and birthdays with Trevor and Teagan-and of the wonderful father and coach that Tim was. We feel blessed to have known him and your family. You are in our prayers.
Keith, Pam, Mitchell and Olivia Krassin
Tim you will be greatly miss by our soccer community and the hispanic community thank you for all the good things you did for us.
My thoughts go back almost thirty years to when Tim and the rest of the Wheelers soccer team was coached by John, Mary Shultz, and myself. I’ve only known one other person as competitive as Tim–his Dad! John led that team to State and we enjoyed a second place finish…what a fun bunch of kids. I will always remember Tim as a good friend to my sons, Glen and Chris, and as a leader and a good sport. My heart goes out to the family. May God bless you and give you comfort and peace.
Tim – you will be missed – I loved your sense of humor and your love for your family. I’m looking forward to seeing you again – that is our hope.
We are very sorry for your lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
I will always remember Tim as a great guy, always wore a smile and was friendly to everyone.

My A/P Department and I were blessed to have Tim sit in our area. He filled our office with life and laughter. He made everyone feel that they were his buddy. He brought much happiness and inspiration to us all.
My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you all.
Laura,
Although you and I have only met a couple times I feel like I’ve known your family for years. Tim was a very special person and I feel blessed to have been able to work with him. He’s taught me alot of life lessons in the past couple years and I’m grateful to have had the chance to know him and call him my friend. I, like him, am a soccer junky and we spent many hours yaking it up about youth soccer. I’ll remember his smile, jokes and prankster attitude the most. God Bless you as you work through this time and remember your other “sysco” family is here for you when you need us.
It has been a blessing to have known Tim. He was like a little brother to me. He was always full of laughter and excitement. He will never be forgotten as he has touched our lives forever. You and your family will alway be apart of our Sysco family.
Laura, Children,and Tim’s parents,
I have just met all of you the past couple weeks. What a wonderful family unit. I felt so fortunate and blessed to have even known Tim. He sat directly behind me at work. What an amazing individual. he was so brilliant and so humble. his laughter and Jokes will be forever etched in my mind. he made our days fun. Thank you Tim. Bless you McGinnis Family.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you
Laura, Tim was an inspiration to all who met him. I had the honor of knowing Tim through work and I can’t remember a time he didn’t make me laugh. He has changed so many lives for the better. His charisma, laughter and smile will always be remembered and the lesson of loving life at all costs is one that we all need to learn. He taught me that. Laura, you have so many friends who love and are praying for you. I’ve only met you a couple of times but I have learned so much from you as well. You are such an inspiration and will always have support from so many who know and love you and your family. You and your children are in my prayers and always will be.
God bless,
Marleen Kelly
Can’t find the words to express my sadness at losing Tim. Always thought that if anyone could beat the disease, it would be Time. He was a fighter! He was funny, happy, always upbeat.
Tims sense of humor will be missed.I remember helping him on the customer service fax machine. He acted like he couldn’t understand the directions. He kept asking me “face up or Face down?” I kept saying up. we kept this up till I looked up from what I was doing, and noticed he wasn’t even trying to fax anything yet he just wanted to see how far I would go with this. We laughed, in fact the whole dept. laughed at us. To the family, I am sorry for your loss. But he is not ill anymore now.My thoughts are with you.
Becky & Neil Cridge.
I am so thankful that I got to see Tim a couple of months ago at Stix and catch up. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and especially Laura and the kids.
Tim,
You will be missed by all. We will never forget you.
I am so sad to hear about Tim’s passing. I knew Tim as that sweet guy from HS and work. He was so friendly and always made me smile. My heart goes out to his family.
McGinnis Family:
All of us who know Tim, knew him to be bright, funny, thoughtful, and full of life. His sense of humor was always appreciated. He will be truly missed by all that were fortunate enough to know him. Your family is in all our thoughts and prayers.
Tim inspired so many of us. Even those that didn’t know him well could see his light. His life and his passing have reminded me what’s really important – that’s a lesson I’ll hold close to my heart forever. God Bless your wonderful family. Your strength and love is a testament to your faith and an example for us all.
Thank you Tim for your friendship, big smiles and extraordinary sense of humor.I will treasure in my heart your strengh and never ending positive attitude. You are my inspiration to continue your excellent work at Sysco. You are with Jesus now. What a reward!!May all your family find peace in Him.
Although I only knew Tim a short time I could tell he was a special person. The way that others talk about you say alot about a person. When you hear the name Tim McGinnis you would always hear these fine words, “caring, hard-worker, family man, trustworthy, and finally you would here he is a man of great strength.” I hope that I can live my life the way that Tim lived it. You will be missed Tim, Adios Amigo!
Another Servant has reached the Heavenly World. Tim is an awesome spirit that touched several. I can not say I know Tim as well as others here at Sysco, but our paths have crossed several times. A smile, something funny-everthing he did showed me his humble and funny character. Knowing he is with Christ and will no longer have pain is a Blessing! To the McGinnis Family as a whole-I will continue to pray your strength in the Lord! Psalms 121 “Look To The Hills.” To Tim ; We Will Meet Again My Friend. God Bless!
I did not know Tim all that well, but what I did know of him I enjoyed. Tim was always smiling, always friendly. My heart and prayers are with the family. May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Tim a couple years back when I was at SYSCO. I will always remember him for his smile and how he made me laugh on a daily basis. I am truly blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Tim will always be that man with the sunny smile. His grin lights up a room and I am sure it is making heaven all the brighter. I am so glad I got to visit with Tim in September. He handled this with such strength and grace, I thank god he is no longer suffering. God Bless You ALL:
