Obituary
Timothy Taylor Turnell
July 11, 1949 – October 26, 2007
Tim passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kent, Washington. He was a Seattle native; born at Swedish Hospital, attended Bow Lake Elementary, Chinook Junior High, Ecole Internationale de Geneve Geneva, graduated from Tyee High School, joined the Navy in 1968, and received his degree in Forestry and Park Planning from the University of Washington.
He married Sally Jean Ladd in 1970 – and they had two wonderful children, Carrie Ann and Curtis Matthew – Our family loved and supported Tim throughout the many challenges and struggles he faced in his life. We were encouraged by his great progress this last year and are very saddened by his passing. Tim will always have a special place in our hearts. Tim is survived by his children, Carrie and Curtis Turnell, his former wife of 34 years, Sally, his father and mother, Robert and Jeannie Turnell of Seattle, his sisters, Julie Turnell and Cathy Turnell-Davis, his brothers-in-law, Scott Morrison and Mark Antonioli, his uncles, Lloyd and William Turnell of California, and his niece, Mary Demuth, his grand-nieces, Sophie and Julia, and his grand-nephew, Aidan, all of Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Disabled American Veterans @ 206-220-6225 would be greatly appreciated.
A Military Memorial for Tim will take place on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:30am at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, in Kent, Washington.
To The Family of Mr. Timothy Taylor Turnell
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to each of you. Although we are not acquainted with one another, we are acquainted with the pain when our loved ones fall asleep in death.
Our Heavenly Father feels the pain that you are going through. When he created the first Man and Woman it was his purpose that they and their offspring including us live forever without the effects of sickness and death.
His purpose has not changed for he promises that the day is soon to come in which he will wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes forever and death will be no more.
He promises too that your loved ones, my loved ones and many others will hear his voice and come out of the memorial tombs graves.
Our hearts and thoughts are with you and your families during this difficult time. No matter how many years pass we still feel fondly for those have we have been blessed to know, made differences in our lives and care deeply about. Bruce Oyloe, Tyee 1968
I am sorry for all of you… now is when we all are entering that next stage of our lives… THANKS TO ALL FOR THE PART YOU’ve PLAYED IN MY AND ALL LIVES… rob shaner tyee 1968
My memories of Tim will be forever in my heart. He was a dear man and I am grateful to have been a part of his life. My deepest and most compassionate sympathies to all who knew and loved him. You will be missed my sweet Tim. Love Denise
Sorry to see the notice in the newspaper. I remember Timmy as the little brother of my best friend “Muffin” on NE 137th St. We had safety and freedom to play and explore, lots of neighborhood kids, backyard circuses and skits. It was a good time and place to be a child. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
After so many years of shared good times and compassion in sad happenings, you know our entire family feels the depth of your sadness in Tim’s death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now, and our hopes that memories will support you as the future unfolds.
Regret to learn of your great loss. My prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
I was so saddened to read of Tim’s passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I love you dad.
I miss you.
Thank you to everyone who is helping our family through this difficult time.
