I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to know Todd and have him as a friend. He had a great sense of humor and he always left a smile on my face whenever I was around him. What more could a person ask for in a friend?

I think his love for the simplest of creations on earth—from bluebirds to the flowers in his garden—told so much about Todd’s inner being. I know that the bluebirds and flowers will miss him sorely. And so will all his friends. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. I wish I could ease your pain.

Todd and I shared a love of birds and gardening and I will always remember the great times we had watching the multitude of birds coming to the feeder at his home. At the time, I probably did not appreciate his “innovative” approaches to ridding the Northwest of non-native Starlings and English Sparrows, but he certainly made his mark in making this world a better, more environmentally balanced place to live. And we are all very indebted to him for that.

My heart goes out to all of his family and loved ones.

Todd was my dearest friend, we had known each other for a wonderful 16 years. He was so good to me, I will never forget him. We had some crazy times together. He used to laugh about the time I went to Burger King to get my cat a Whopper for its dinner. Todd laughed so hard watching the cat take the hamburger out of the wrapper, unwrap it and eat it. He just thought that was amazing. I feel very priviledged that I got to have such a special friend as Todd, he was truly a wonderful man. I love you Todd and will miss you so much.

My thoughts and prayers are with Todd’s family. Todd was my International Paper rep for many years; always a gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. I have missed him already and deeply saddened by his passing.

We feel really lucky to have had Todd as a part of our lives!

One of our happiest memories is when Todd became April’s godfather at her baptism in April 2002. He gave April a beautiful gold cross which she will always treasure.

When I think of Todd I think of our dinners at Wally’s Seafood, our times in the mudflats of Tacoma putting up Purple Martin nest boxes, our shared enjoyment of Judge Judy, the fun of ordering from QVC especially crab cakes! , and of course our shared love of dogs!

We hope that Todd and Bentley are together again. We will always miss having him here with us.

A wonderful friend, a person of integrity, insight, compasion, and a great cook to boot! So glad we were part of your life. Thanks for sharing our times at the beach house, the Easter brunch’s, our Thanksgiving and Christmas’s together. And those Key Lime Pies! We will remember all the good times we had together.

Dear Jeff…we were so saddened by your email about Todd. We immediately phoned Haley and Matt who now have a 10-month old Barrett and they wanted us to send their thoughts and prayers, also. They are in the Caribbean on a cruise but will call you upon their return. We’d love to see you again, Jeff. We travel to Seattle 4x a year now as “grandpas” and look forward to touching base. Our deepest sympathy, Jeff.

Before we received your note we were JUST going through the pictures of the four of us on the cruise and have such wonderful memories. Our love to you, Jeff.

Our condolences to the Tannery family, we are sadden by the early departure of Todd. Having the opportunity to hire Todd several years ago, he was in fact a blessing, his loyality and humor made the man we know and loved today. We shared a love for dogs and I’m sure Todd and Bentley will be looking at all of us.

Todd was a pretty cool guy… used to enjoy chatting with him on occasion at St Spiridon’s. May his memory be eternal!

My husband Bruce and I knew Todd through our shared Audubon experience. He was always smiling and enthusiastic, fun to be with. He was so excited to see the swallows and purple martins using the boxes he had put up. And, like us, he was also a big dog lover. He will be sorely missed. We will think of him each spring when baby swallows hatch in the nest box on the back of our house.

We are so saddened about the early passing of our dear friend, Todd. We were broker reps. for Todd, when he was at IP. He always so supportive of us, especially during many difficult times with Int’l Paper. He stood up for us and defended us, as he knew we were from the same honest cloth. He was such a sincere dear person and true friend. We will miss his humor, effervescent personality and the many fun times my wife and I had with Todd. You could not ask for a truer and dear friend. He is in a better place, with Bentley and the angels. May God Bless Jeff and his family during this difficult time. Our deepest sympathy, yet we will all remember the many happy, fun times we had with Todd.

Todd, I think of you often and travel through the memories we created together. I have so many…mostly full of laughter and joy. Like the times we would sit on your deck and wait for Jeff to come home, and talk and drink our tea and watch the hummingbirds and discuss that season’s beautiful garden. Or the time you helped me paint my little rental home. Or when you got the new surround sound downstairs or your Chihuly or when I celebrated New Year’s with you and Jeff and your friends. Or that winter that all of Redondo was one big ice cube with no power and you and Jeff took me and my cat in and we camped at your house. Or the times you or I would call from our facing balconies and advise each other on fashion via the telephone and our binoculars! Or concoct new gaudy light and decoration displays for my balcony just to get a rise out of Jeff…our forever patient straight man. And our walks with Bentley and when you became the premier ice cream maker of Redondo! I treasure all of these memories and more. Sorry I lost your love. You will always have mine.

Love,

Alicia

Was thinking of you Todd, as I do occasionally through all these years. My best friend at 4 years old. The first boy I married lol. Was hoping to say “hi”. Well, I will still think of you. You and your family were good to me. My condolences to you all. I’m sorry he died young. Will be praying for you.
