To Karen, Rod, Donna and Families.

Bud and I have been friends with your mom and dad since before they were married. We spent many evenings together. We bowled for more years than we care to remember. We spent New Year’s Eve at bowling parties, and spent a lot of evenings at each others houses playing cards. We joked about your folks having Karen and than we had Howard and than we had Kevin and we kept asking them when they were going to have another and along came Rod. They laughed when we had Brian and said they didn’t think they would have any more. Ha Ha along came Donna. We all made a pack that three stikes and you were out. However, we love all of you dearly. Bud enjoyed working with your dad in survey at the City. We want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Remember the good times and always keep them in your fondest memories. Love to all of you, Jan and Bud

My sincere symphathies to Tom’s family. He was a good friend of mine for many years. I knew Tom from working at the City; we would go out to lunch regularly after he retired, until his eyesight made it difficult to travel downtown. Tom was a wonderful person and we shared many good lunch hours, talking about all sorts of things but mainly family, vacation trips, and our common interests such as gardening. I will really miss Tom!

I remember bowling for the Andys Diner Team and having some great battles and dinner bets with the Fortune Cookie team. Tom and his brothers Fred, and Roy. Tom will be missed by everyone, I’m sure.

I am sorry to learn about your loss. I hope you all will find comfort in the hope that one day soon we will be re-united with our loved ones who have died before us in accord with God’s will. Your pain is certainly in my heart.

Sincerely yours,

Elaine Jones

I’m here reflecting on Uncle Tom as I write my mother’s own obituary… 🙂
