Una Loy M. Clark Farrer
Una Loy M. Clark Farrer passed away on October 4, 2015 at the age of 94. Una Loy was born May 7, 1921 in Glenwood, Utah. Una Loy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and that love was returned by all who knew her. Una Loy grew up in Provo, Utah, and married her childhood sweetheart Barney. The family moved to Seattle where Barney completed dental school at the University of Washington. Dr. Clark was the first recipient of the artificial heart, the surgery having been performed at the University of Utah. After Barney’s passing Una Loy became an honorary spokesperson for the American Heart Association and performed those duties for two years. Later in life Una Loy married Glen G. Farrer with whom she shared the last 24 years. Una Loy is survived by her husband Glen, her three children, Gary, Stephen, and Karen, and by six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Private family services were held October 10, 2015 with subsequent interment at Washington Memorial Cemetery in Seattle.
