Valentino Vega Alvarado passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 72. Born on May 21, 1952, in Victoria, Texas, Valentino lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for pool, and a career that spanned over four decades.
Valentino served in the US Army from 1972 to 1974, a period during which he dedicated himself to his duties and embraced the disciplined life of a soldier. Following his military service, he established a successful career as a Master Journeyman Commercial Painter and Drywaller, a profession he excelled in for 40 years until his retirement.
Known for his sharp wit and impeccable style as he was always dressed to the nines, Valentino was a fixture at pool tournaments, especially in Las Vegas nationals, where he showcased his skills and sportsmanship. His hobbies included road trips, watching movies, and dancing to Tejano music. A culinary enthusiast, he loved cooking and was famous for his homemade stuffing at thanksgiving. Valentino also cherished his annual trips to Texas, ensuring he stayed connected with his roots and family.
Valentino was the best father anyone could want and his legacy of love and laughter is carried on by his two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two brothers, one sister, and his fiance Mary Helen. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Valentino’s life was a testament to his enduring strength, humor, and the profound impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services to honor Valentino’s life will be held at Bonney Watson in Seatac, Washington, on March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a military honors and burial at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Bonney Watson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
