Obituary
Vance Blue, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on June 2, with his daughter by his side. His 8 year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease is over.
Vance was born on June 9th, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was raised there by his parents Lee and Lenore Blue. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School (class of 1953) and continued his education at Iowa State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering (1957). During this time he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Lebeda, and had a son, Randy. After graduation Vance served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant in Fulda, Germany for 4 years where his daughter Sheri was born. Vance then returned to Cedar Rapids where be began a career with Square D Company that spanned 30 years and many moves, working his way up to plant manager until his retirement.
Vance spent his retirement visiting his children and grandchildren with his wife Ruth, ultimately settling in the Seattle area where he lived for the past 22 years. He is survived by his children Randy (Damita) Blue, and Sheri (Alan) Barronian and 6 grandchildren, Cody and Sumner Blue and Trevor, Payton, Abigail and Seth Barronian. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, (Diana Cecil) and his wife.
Vance had a mile wide smile and a heart for Jesus that will be greatly missed by all of us. He came to a personal relationship with Christ later in life and made up for lost time by studying the Bible for 9 years with Bible Study Fellowship. We know with certainty that he is resting in peace in the arms of Jesus, his personal Lord and Savior.

Vance was my brother-in-law and my family and I have such wonderful memories of visiting Ruth and him.. They always had such beautiful homes and made one feel so comfortable when visiting.
Our dear Vance was missed over the last few years, but he is in a better place and at peace.

Vance was a very special, loving man. So proud to have known him at my church , JCSL. He greeted me with a loving caring word. His light shown for Jesus that is for sure. I praying for comfort for Sheri and Randy and the whole loving family. I celebrate his life and knowing he is home with Lord and loved ones.
