Obituary
On December 10, 2017, Vera Aileen (Buckley) Christianson peacefully left us for the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
Vera was born on February 12, 1929 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Lelah (Beals) Buckley. She was proud of the fact that she shared the same birthday as President Abraham Lincoln. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1946. In 1947 her brother, Dick, introduced her to a young, handsome Army/Air Force soldier he had just met on the bus, Alvin E. Christianson. She and Alvin were married on March 12, 1949 and shared 56 wonderful years together before his death on Nov. 21, 2005. In 1956 she and Alvin and their four children moved from Decatur, IL to Seattle, WA to enjoy the cooler summers, warmer winters, and the beautiful geography of the Pacific Northwest. She worked at the Boeing Company for seven years and then chose to stay home to take care of her family.
