Obituary
Vera E. (Bemis) Hall, age 100, died on June 21, 2022. She was born in Palermo, ND on June 3, 1922. Vera was the 5th of 6 children and the only daughter, born to Julian and Hattie Bemis. Her family moved to WA when she was 2 years old. At age 16, Vera met Floyd, and they were married in 1942. They shared 61 years together, until Floyd passed in 2004.
Administrative positions were the focus of Vera’s working years. Most of those years, employed as a school secretary in the Highline School District. Her polished skills were a valuable resource, as Floyd took the upward step of starting his own business in 1977.
Vera loved sharing time with friends and family. Three children: Randy (Christine), Doug (Joan) and Pam (Dave), two grandchildren: Neil (Victoria) and Shea (Matt) and a Great-grandchild: Anya (born 2020) were the focus in her life. Her caring spirit and sense of humor fostered easy personal connections. She had determination and resourcefulness learned from being a child of The Great Depression years.
Boundless energy and attention to detail were displayed in Vera’s life through raising children and assisting relatives, her career, tending flower gardens, hosting family gatherings, sewing clothing and costumes, planning family vacations and taking on home projects.
Vera’s wish was to remain home as long as possible. With the support of her family, she was able to do so until she passed. She leaves us with fond memories of her quick wit, love of nature and sincere concern for others.
