Obituary
Vernon M. Mann, age 90 passed away March 5, 2005 in Des Moines, WA. Vernon, born in Colorado, but spent his childhood in western Nebraska. Upon completion of an aeronautical training course, he was employed for a 35 year career at Boeing retiring in 1977. He was a long term member of Seattle First United Methodist Church, the Boeing Employees Mineralogical Society, SPEEA and a present member of Des Moines United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener and rock hound. Vernon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Madelyn; two sons, Lawrence Mann Lucy and Bruce Mann Jessica; two daughters, Marilyn Newport David and Barbara Hutchens Gary; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Wesley Homes Gardens, 815 S. 216th St., Des Moines, WA 98198. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Wesley Homes Circle of Concern. The family has entrusted arrangements to BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787.
We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Vernon’s passing, especially so close to Dad’s passing. We wish we could be there for the memorial service but it’s not going to work out because of Mike’s job. Our sympathy is with the whole family. Know that you will be in our prayers.
