Obituary

Viola Laura Howell departed this life on June 21, 2008 at Regency of Renton. She passed peacefully in the company of family.
Viola moved from Butte, Montana to Seattle at the age of six in 1931. She attended Seattle Public Schools and took Nursing classes at Edison Technical College. Later she took classes in Child Development. For over 20 years she contributed to helping the abused and neglected children at Seattle Day Nursery, presently known as Child Haven.
She was fun loving, personable and very generous. Viola volunteered at the Southeast Senior Center for a number of years when needed. At the senior center she was an announcer for the talent shows as well as a model for fashion shows.
Viola leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Earlene Washington, son-in-law Prince Washington, grandson Greg Washington, two great-grand children, Joshua Washington and Kelani Washington and sister Frances Demisse. Memories are also held by a cousin, nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Viola is preceded in death by husband Louis C. Howell, mother Mable Williams, sister Hettie B. Reese, brothers Artemus and Jimmy Williams, and nephew David Demisse. She will be loved and missed by those who knew and loved her.
Our family wished to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to many good friends for their hospitality and gestures of kindness extended during our time of bereavement. Your prayers, visits, kind words and deeds have been a comfort to us.
