Obituary

VIRGINIA L. GINNY JOHNSTON, with her 92nd birthday a few days away, and family around her, died peacefully at her Ida Culver House apartment.
Born March 14th, 1917, Ginny was the second of three girls born to Elsie and Arthur Hess. Carol, Virginia and Shirley grew up in Seattle and West Seattle, and spent many summers with their grandparents in Wenatchee.
Virginia married her husband, of 65 years, Robert G. Bob Johnston in 1937 a couple years after graduating from West Seattle High School. They were longtime residents of West Seattle, Mercer Island and Bellevue. During those years Ginny was a beautiful lady and devoted homemaker whose greatest love was her family. She always insisted on celebrating each birthday and holiday in perfect style. She was a loving, patient wife; mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who took great delight in entertaining family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2002, and her sisters Carol Armstrong and Shirley Reamy. Virginia is survived by her son Jim Dianne of Kingston, daughter Joy Dave Storgaard of Seattle; grandchildren, Lee Cintra Storgaard of Seattle, Coleen Michael Stubelt of San Jose, CA. and Brent Berni Johnston of Poulsbo; great grandsons Alex Storgaard and Easton Stubelt, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, 98188, March 14th at 12:30, viewing 9:00 AM – Noon. Remembrances can be sent to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Ida Culver House Broadview 12505 Greenwood Ave N. Seattle, WA 98133 in honor of the wonderful staff that cared for her or, the charity of your choice.
