Obituary
Walter LeWoren Nelson, age 86 died peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Federal Way. Beloved husband, Walter is survived by his wife of 64 years, Aida; loving father of daughters, Nancy John Wugell and Madeline Morehouse David Sorlie; two grandchildren, Jeffery and Michelle Morehouse; four great-grandchildren, Evan, Mackenzie, Mochi and Milana; several nieces and nephews. He was a retired electrician and long time resident of Shorewood and Herron Island. In later years he lived in Federal Way. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 12/17 from 2-5 pm and Friday, 12/18 from 2-7 pm. Rosary will be held on Friday, 12/18 at 7:00 pm at BONNEY-WATSON Parker Chapel, 900 SW 146th Street, Burien, WA 206 244-2320. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 12/19 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church, 15236 – 21ST Street SW, Burien, WA. Committal service will be held at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Park. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Walter Nelson.

Walt and Aida were our long-time neighbors and wonderful friends on Herron Island. Such great memories of weekends and summers spent relaxing at our “vacation cabins” where we sometimes worked harder than during the week. Walt was the first to offer a hand, a tool, some advice, his experience or just some interesting conversation with a really good guy. And of course Aida always had a cold or hot drink and a tray of something good to eat. Walt was the best kind of good neighbor, friend and citizen; there when needed, willing to do whatever was necessary. Walt, we will miss you!
