Walter W. Lund passed away peacefully at his home in Seattle, Washington on October 25, 2016, at the age of 90 years old. Walter was born January 11, 1926 in Seattle, the only child of Walter W. and Nena M. (nee Copland) Lund. Walter graduated Broadway High School in 1943. After briefly attending M.I.T., Walter was drafted into the U.S. Navy. While training in Chicago, he met and married Beatrice A. Puestow in 1945. Walter and Beatrice moved to Seattle, where Walter received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the U. of Washington in 1948. After earning his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from U. of Southern California in 1956, and working in southern California, the couple returned to Seattle in 1959. Walter spent the remainder of a distinguished career with Boeing, retiring in 1991. Career highlights included two patents (1981, 1982) and a contribution in the Radar Handbook (2nd Edition). Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice (2013), son Raymond Lund (1949), and daughter Ruth Wright (2001). Walter is survived by daughters Diana Oberti and Deborah Lund, and grandchildren Darren Wright, Jeffrey Jasper and Angela Oberti.
