Obituary

Warren B. Fung, USN Retired, born in San Francisco, December 21, 1921, passed away on April 8, 2005 at age 83. He is survived by his son, Steven T. Fung of Tacoma, WA and sisters, Marie Lee of San Francisco, CA, Ruby Wong of Sacramento, CA and brother, Calvin J. Fung of Mercer Island. Warren attended Broadway High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1942 and served for 22 years, retiring in 1964 from the Amphibious Squadron Eight, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. During WWII, Warren participated in a number of major engagements in the Pacific Theater, particularly recalling the battles of Guadalcanal and Okinawa. He also served during the Korean War and the Joint Army-Navy Atomic tests at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Following his retirement, Warren was employed at Frederick and Nelson and the Federal Building in Seattle. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787 followed by Graveside Committal Services, 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Highway S., Federal Way, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Seattle Keiro, 1601 E. Yesler Way, Seattle, WA 98122-5640 or to the charity of your choice.
