All of us who had the joy of my dad in their lives are blessed.
Those who never knew him missed out on a true treasure.
I will miss him every day of my life.
He was my rock.
Bill was like a Father to me for many years, he will be missed very much by all !
Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on
Cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart
For as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in our hearts
Uncle Bill,
Thank you for being a part of my life. I will miss you.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family, I wish them all the strength they need in this time of sorrow.
I was only lucky enough to meet Uncle Bill once but will forever cherish the memories of this loving, caring and truly wonderful man.
Rest in Peace, Uncle Bill. You will be remembered always for your kind, peaceful nature and your endearing sense of humor. Those who had the pleasure of knowing you are very fortunate, indeed
The bestest Uncle you could ask for. I’ll be ‘home’ soon with all my family. Love Ted & Denise
I always admired my Great Uncle Bill as a kind, gentle and loving man. No matter how much time had passed between my visits with him, he always greeted me with a smile and a warm, caring hug. I will miss him very much!
In my life, I’ve never met a better man than my Father-in-Law. He never said anything he didn’t mean. He loved, cared, and laughed from his soul. Whatever will we do without him to point out all of the good things in life.
If there’s anyone that can be with us and guide us after life, it’s Bill. I’ll be listening..
My uncle Bill Bentz was my great roll model! His kindness and thoughtfulness will be remembered forever. He was a “HERO” and a”PATRIOT” during WWll and all of his many years beyond. He liked sports and especially loved baseball and horse shoes! He always was a tough competitior.. His smile always warmed our hearts.
Uncle Bill was one of a kind, he loved children, and was always willing to be helpful. Frankly, there aren’t enough words that can be said to describe this true Gentleman.
Rest in peace Uncle Bill, you will be loved and missed by all !
Love;

I taught at Highline Community College for 32 years and knew Bill Bentz for many of those years. He was always conscientous in supervising the maintenance of the campus, but above all he was patient and courteous when dealing with those who brough their problems to him. He was friendly and easy-going and a pleasure to know. The world needs more like him.

I will always remember uncle Bill as loving to be active. I remember playing crocet in their yard in Burien and playing horse shoes at the Steward campouts and bowling recently in his 90’s. He was such a loving and helpful husband and father and I loved his sense of humor. You will be missed greatly.
Chuck says he will remember all the things he and Bill did together, long ago and their ties to sports, Bill always made sure he had the schedules. I think about trying to find the funniest Birthday cards to send, as I knew he wouid get a kick out of them. Also Bill taking a nap on our couch and Onie yelling :BILLLLLLL!! . Great guy lots of fun, but lived a good long time .in good health sad to go so quick, but without suffering was a blessing.
In my 30 years working at Highline Community College I had many opportunities to work directly with Bill on a variety of challenges. His style and commitment to finding the best solution to whatever problem were a pleasure. He loved the College, was a friend to everyone, and was respected by all of us. Bill was one of the best people in a place with many very nice facutly and staff.
June 23 1918 is another very special day in our families history!
Today would have been my mother June Rose Steward Harley Gauntlett’s 94th birthday.
Like my uncle Bill Bentz, I was taught the true meaning of LOVE, kindness & respect.
Uncle Bill tried many times to teach me how to swim, to no avail, He ended up pushing me around on a log in the sound. As a yougster we played catch among other special times sharing time together. I was about five or six when I first met Bill Bentz.and his lovely mother. After WWll I was honored to carry his hand bag while he carried his duffle bag returning home from the bus stop at 136th & Ambaum SW at Chelsea park.in Burien. He will be remembered every day of my life as a TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT. If only I could behalf the man my dear uncle Bill was. it would be great honor, because my Uncle Bill Bentz was the very definition of HONOR & INTEGRITY”. You will be forever missed Uncle Bill.
Love;
Ray Harley
I had met Mr Bentz through his daughter, Judy. Whenever I was around him he was always kind, happy, polite. I know he was a source of pride and love to his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
