Obituary
William ‘Bill’ M. Ross was born in Spokane WA. On April 22, 1945, and died in his Federal Way home with his family by his side on Wednesday 10/07/09. Bill was a longtime resident of Federal Way, and worked in the Millworks department at the Federal Way Home Depot for several years. Bill enjoyed wine tasting with friends, and spending time with his wife Cindy in their garden. He also loved taking family trips to the Washington and Oregon coasts, and going to Hawaii with Cindy. Bill had many talents and spent a lot of his time on home improvements and ‘honey do’s’, including building and later enlarging the deck on their home, building a garden shed, laying tile and vinyl flooring, and doing just about anything that Cindy asked him to! Bill had a quick wit, with a wonderful & sometimes wicked! sense of humor. His fun loving nature earned him the nickname ‘Wild Bill’ among friends and family. Bill and Cindy would have celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in November, and they both recognized how blessed they were in their deep and abiding love for each other. Bill was a kind, thoughtful, loving husband and father, and he will be profoundly missed.
Bill grew up in Kennewick, WA. and served 3 years in the Navy as a data processor during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife Cindy and their sons Tyler Ross of Seattle, and Aaron Ross of Puyallup, a daughter, Tandy Gibson and grandson Chase Gibson of Lynden WA. a sister Marlene Henle of Olympia, and two nieces; Cari Dave Plute of Auburn and Julie Rice of Olympia. A celebration of his life will be held at Bonney Watson Funeral Home in Federal Way at 1:00pm on Sunday October 18th,, and will be followed by a reception at Verrazano’s Italian Restaurant at 28835 Pacific Highway So., Federal Way, WA.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
To the Ross Family, May each of you find comfort in knowing that God is “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” Psalm 34;18 He has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” Isaiah 25;8 Take care,
Cindy, Tyler and Aaron,
My heart hurts for you and the void that Bill will leave, but also, you have some wonderful and loving memories that you will forever carry in your hearts.
I am sending you prayers and love. Your cousin and friend, Gina
Cindy, my heart aches for your loss. While I worked with you, I did not know Bill. But, reading the memorial and the guestbook, it looks as though not knowing Bill was my loss. He sounds like a wonderful man. Carol and I hope that your grief is short but your memories last a lifetime.
Cindy and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Denny and I will miss spending time with Bill.
Cindy,
I was fortunate to share a short chapter of Bill’s life when we worked together at Home Depot. I was Bill’s Department Head for 2 years and during that time I developed a great appreciation of his work ethic, sence of humor and wit. When ever I returned to shop at the store I always made a point of detouring my agenda to see if Bill was in that day. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I will always think of Bill as a GREAT man!
Bill was one of my favorite guys to work with during my 5 years in Millworks. I loved his sense of humor and his straight forward way of dealing with people. I admired his zest for life and looked forward to hearing his stories of his time spent with his family and friends. I know he was very proud of all his children and his wife Cindy. I think he felt that he was one of the luckiest men alive. Bill will be deeply missed by many.
Dear Cindy and Boys,
Our sincere sympathy to you and the boys over the loss of your dear Bill and Father. Know you are surrounded in love and prayers by many friends and family members.
Love – Rick & Patti Usack
